A Jesus Film Project Update… Kent Odor
During December 2024 and January 2025, Sound Mind Investing gave two matching grants to establish an ACS Jesus Film Initiative. Funds were successfully raised to purchase 160 tablets and 35 projectors loaded with 40 Myanmar languages. The logistics surrounding the purchase of the equipment, the production and installation of the chips with the Jesus Film and the transportation to Chiang Mai, Thailand were significant. Our teams in SE Asia were sidetracked by serving needs associated with a devastating 7.7 magnitude earthquake and unusual Monsoon flooding disaster. The original goal of delivering the equipment to the 35 Evangelism committees throughout the country at a planned May conference was postponed until November. On top of this, the Thai government tacked on an unexpected 20% “value” tax on the equipment.
We are now happy to report the success of several phases of the Jesus Film Initiative:
Phase 1–the transportation of all the equipment to Thailand and the installation of the Jesus Film onto all devices. Completed.
Phase 2–transportation across the border into Myanmar and the delivery of the equipment to Myitkyina across battle zones into the north. Completed.
Phase 3—on Tuesday and Wednesday, November 11-12, 2025, the Evangelists met together to plan further expansion of the gospel throughout Myanmar. At this meeting, they heard a brief video message of encouragement from me, and then the tablets and projectors were distributed among them to be used to further share the gospel to new unreached peoples! The Evangelists were thrilled with the gifts and felt empowered even more to share the gospel everywhere. Completed.
Phase 4—November 13th onward, the Evangelists are sharing the Jesus Film with people who need Christ. This is now a new prayer request: “Lord, may this tool clearly introduce Jesus and prepare the way for the Evangelists to guide men, women and children toward salvation! Amen!” We will report new news as it comes in. Thank you to everyone for your prayers and patience as this project has proceeded. Now, God’s message of Jesus is in the hands of our teams, and the results are the Lord’s!
