Simon Thaung, a key ACS leader in Myanmar, is also the leader of an NGO – the HOPE Foundation – which is registered within the country. His role in his organization gave him immediate access to the emergency area. He gathered both HOPE staff and associates as well as about 30 ACS church planters and evangelists in southern Myanmar to assist in the recovery and medical relief immediately. Through USA funds collected through ACS and its partners including IDES, he was able to access food, medicine and other supplies through his associations including FEDWELL foods in Myanmar and make an immediate difference in many lives. His team included a doctor, nurses and other medical personnel. The team dispersed clean water and filtration systems to hold back Cholera. He committed his team to an ongoing support system for 90 days.
